Shalani San Ramon Soledad was born April 20, 1980 in Catanduanes. At present, she is a City councilor in second district of Valenzuela City and niece of former Senator Francisco Tatad. From 2002-2003, she worked in the office of Senator Panfilo Lacson as an executive staff. From 2004 up to present, she has been a City Councilor in the 2nd District of Valenzuela.

She took up Bachelor of Science in Human Resources Management in De La Salle University, College of St. Benilde. She had studied at PCTR and Marymount School for her high School education. Her father is a banker and her mother is a food and beverage director at Malacañang which she resigned two years ago.

She happens to be the girlfriend of the President, Benigno Simeon “Noynoy” Cojuangco Aquino III. They first met in between of 2000-2001; it was when she interviewed “Noynoy” for a media project. This was followed in August 2008 when they accidentally meet at Alfredo’s restaurant in Quezon City while dining with their friends. On the succeeding month, Aquino introduced Shalari to his associates where he had admitted that they were dating. In their course of relationship, they both agree that “food is better than flowers” as they love to eat.

According to a baby book, the meaning of Shalani is “big and beautiful baby girl”. Shalani is known for a woman of simplicity and sincerity. She is a woman of faith. She starts and ends her day with a prayer asking God to make her instrument to serve the public.

Mario Teodoro Failon Etong aka Ted Failon is a recognized broadcast journalist, radio commentator, and a previous congressman representing the first district of Leyte (2001-2004). He was born on March 29, 1962 in Tacloban City, Leyte. At the very young age he works to support his studies. He graduated at St. Andrew’s School Parañaque in 1974 for his elementary education. He then continued his high school studies at the University of Perpetual Help System Dalta Las Pinas Campus Department of Business High School in 1979. He took up the course of AB Economics in Colegio de San Juan de Letran and at the same time working as DJ along EDSA and Cubao, Quezon City. Failon earned his Bachelor in Broadcast Communication degree from Polytechnic University of the Philippines, Manila in 1996. He also attended of Laws program at Arellano University.

In 1983-1988, He works at Radyo DIWA in Tacloban City as a Radio Announcer. In 1988-1990, he became the Program Director at DWGV-FM 99.1 in Angeles City, Pampanga. Afterward, he moved to ABS-CBN and later on became the Executive Producer and News Anchor from 1990 and 2001. In 2001-2004, He ran and elected as the 1st district Representative in his hometown, Leyte. After his term, he goes back to ABS-CBN and continued his broadcasting career up to the present.

He has been hosting television and radio programs covering news and public affairs. He then happened to be popular after his co-hosting on Hoy Gising program. He also taught at the Polytechnic University of the Philippines pertaining to journalism subjects. Currently, Ted Failon is one of the main news anchors of TV Patrol World together with Karen Davilla and Julius Babao, the flagship news program of ABS-CBN. He is also the newscaster and radio commentator in DZMM (ABS-CBN radio network) and co-hosts with Korina Sanchez
in the radio segment “Tambalang Failon and Sanchez”.

Lucio Tan is the famous Chinese Filipino business tycoon and the second richest man in the Philippines next to Henry Sy. He owns Tanduay Holdings which is one of the world’s largest rum makers. He also owns Asia Brewery, the second largest brewery in the country and Fortune Tobacco, the largest tobacco company in the Philippines. He is also the owner of Philippine Airlines the Philippines’ flag carrier. These are only few examples of the 300 companies that Mr. Tan managed. The total value of his businesses was estimated not less than $20 billion controlling the 60% share.

Lucio tan was in Amoy, Fujian, Republic of China on July 17, 1934. He was still a child when his parents decided to move here in the Philippines. He studied at the University of Santo Tomas taking up Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering but finished this course from the University of Santo Tomas.

He had stop schooling before graduating to take a job in a tobacco factory. He started the cigarette company known as Fortune Tobacco in 1966. He only begins in a small hut in Marikina gained Lucio Tan to success. He then venture and became successful from various business field namely airlines and related services; banking, finance and  securities; brewery; chemicals; distillery and alcohol; education; food; hotel; manufacturing; property development; steel fabrication and construction; and tourism and travel services.

Mr. Tan received several recognitions and awards both in the Philippines and abroad for his achievements and  leadership. Lucio Tan holds a Doctorate Degree in Commerce from the  University of Santo Tomas along with a string of honorary doctorate degrees from various institutions of higher learning.

He launched the Tan Yan Kee Foundation in 1986 in honor of his father to share fruits of his endeavor with those in  need. The Foundation is aiming to support of education, culture and sports; health and social welfare; research; and manpower development.

Reynaldo Valera Guardiano aka Rey Valera was born on May 4, 1954 in Meycauayan, Bulacan, Philippines. He is renowned songwriter, music director, film scorer and a most loved singer. Rey Valera was famous in writing and producing song recorded by various notable singers such as Sharon Cuneta for the song “Mr. DJ”.

In 1977, he started his recording career in his group called Electric Hair Band for seven years. He made named for the song “Ako si Superman” which he himself is the writer and singer. His former boss from “Vicor Records” offered him the opportunity to sing his self composed song as well as hired him as one of in-house Vicors producer.

He also wrote songs for Rico J. Puno such as “Sorry Na”, “Daigdig Ng Ala-ala”, and “Pwede Ba”. Also for Pol Enriquez “Ayoko na Sa ‘Yo” and for Geraldine “Pangako”. While creating album for his peers, he also wrote and album for himself “The Rey Valera Christmas Album”, “Rey Valera Vol. 2”, “Rey Valera’s Greatest Hits Vol. 1”, “Rey Valera’s Greatest Hits Vol. 2”, “Sa Kabila Ng Lahat”, “Pirapirasong Ala-ala”, “Kung Sakaling Iibig Muli”, “Ang Mahalaga”, “FM Ka, AM Ako”, “Home Sweet Home”, “Naaalala Ka”, “hello” and many more which most of these turn to gold and platinum records.

His recorded songs “Walang Kapalit” was compiled at the Vicor Music Corporation’s library as part of their 40th anniversary.

In 2002, he was reunited with Hajji Alejandro and Rico J. Puno in a sequence of concerts called “Greatest Hits” stressing the music on their own time. In the following year Marco Sison and Nonoy Zuñiga joined the group. They tour and performed locally and internationally. They changed the name from “The Greatest Hits” to “The Greatest Hitmakers” as this was more appropriate as this were referring to the their songs and not to the group members.

He was inaugurated as “Alagad ng Sining at Kultura ng Bulacan” to Bulacan’s own “Walk of Fame”, in the “Hardin ng Mga Bayani at Sining”, Malolos City, Bulacan last November 9, 2006. He received a pile of a wet cement to leave a hand print with his name on it.

It was August 17, 2007 when Vina Morales won as the first “Asean Ikon Champion” with the song “Pangako Sa’yo” by Rey Valera. This has been used as the ABS-CBN theme song of their two-year running soap TV series “Pangako sa’yo”.

Jessica Soho is an award-winning television celebrity and journalist. A “Ka Doroy Valencia” awardee given by the Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster ng Pilipinas. She was also included in the 100 Filipino Women of Distinction chosen during the centennial celebration of the Philippines. Jessica Soho is the first Filipino to won the New York Film Festival for Coverage of a Breaking Story where she covered the story of hostage crisis in Cagayan Valley.

In 1999, she received the popular George Foster Peabody Award together with GMA Network on her documentaries on “Kamao Death Sport” and “Kidneys for Sale business”. Where she discovered a remote area where people living there sell their Kidney in order to buy food to eat. After the exposé, the government was forced to intervene in the situation. This put Jessica and her team internationally acknowledged.

On October 14, 2008 she was awarded as Outstanding Citizen on her TV segment “Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho”. It was also recognized as the Most Development-Oriented Magazine Program and she got two awards- the Best Magazine Program Host in the Gandingan and the Best Public Affairs Program Host in 2009. Robert Salazar Jaworski is also know in many aliases such Jawo, Bobby Jaworski, Sonny Jaworski, and Robert Jaworski, Sr. he is a superstar PBA basketball player and later on become a Coach. He is served as a previous senator of the Philippines.

He is called “The Living Legend” and known as “Big J” in his early playing career. Jaworski is the only the playing coach in PBA under Ginebra San Miguel team. He was also awarded as one of the PBA’s 25 Greatest Players of all time.

He is born in March 8, 1946 in Baguio City, Philippines with a Filipino mother and a Polish father. He was first noticed in basketball profession when he played for the University of the East’s Red Warriors. He managed to pull the school to a UAAP championship in the 1966 – 1967 championships. In lieu to basketball abilities he was then labeled as the “Big Hands” by Willie Hernandez, sportscaster because of his gigantic palm that made him easy to grip the ball in one hand.

In 1970, he got his first MVP award during the Presidential Cup. Mr. Boni Escoda mentioned Jaworski as the MICAA (1971-1974) best Filipino player by getting the highest Player’s All-around Value of 35.7.

In 1975, he was part of the original Toyota team. He is one of the main players in Toyotas 9 championship game and was recognized as the “Most Valuable Player” in 1978 with the averaged of 20 points, 12 assists and nine rebounds per game. However, he is also the first player to got 1000 offensive and 2000 defensive rebounds.

In the end of 1983 season their team was sold to “Basic Holding Inc.,” the company the holds “Asia Brewery”. Jawarski did not like the idea because they felt bypass in their time just like they are sold per kilo. Later on, Carlos “Honeyboy” Palanca III the PBA President decided to take Jaworski to Gilbey’s Gin which later called as Ginebra San Miguel. Together with Arnaiz, they make Ginebra San Miguel the most popular team in the decade.

In 1986 season, Jaworski took over as playing coach of Ginebra San Miguel. It was this year he got the first championship in the “Open Conference” with the imports Michael Hackett and Billy Ray Bates.

In 1998, Jaworski announces his intention in running to Philippine Senate and won in the election following the footsteps of Ambrosio Padilla and Freddie Webb. After he was proclaimed as Senator, Jaworski quits as being coach and turnover it to Quirino “Rino” Salazar, his assistant and was being absent to basketball scenes.

In 2007, Jaworski was about to return to the basketball fight as coach of Air21 Express or Talk ‘N Text Phone Pals for the 2007 PBA Fiesta Conference however refused the offer because of the rumors were spread before he had signed the contract.

Alfonso T. Yuchengco is known businessman, certified public accountant, educator, and a diplomat in the Philippines.

He is the head Yuchengco Group of Companies which considered as one of the largest family-owned business corporations in the Philippines. Yuchengco is also the Chairman on the one of the largest commercial bank in the Philippines which is the Rizal Commercial Banking Corporation. Furthermore, he is the Chairman of a leading engineering school in the Philippines the Mapua Institute of Technology.

He graduated from Far Eastern University of a degree in a Bachelor of Science in Commerce, major in Accountancy. He surpassed the licensure examinations for certified public accountants in the Philippines. He then goes to the Columbia Business School in New York City for his graduate class.

Last 2005, Yuchengco was appointed as one of the members of the Consultative Commission for Charter Change, a special body tasked to study and recommend changes in the 1987 Philippine Constitution by Gloria Macapagal Arroyo.

He is also the Chairman of the Board of Bantayog ng mga Bayani Foundation and the Chairman Emeritus and Member of the Board of Governors of the Philippine Ambassadors Foundation; and Chairman Emeritus and Past President of the Philippine Ambassadors Association. Yuchengco is also one of the members of the Board of Judges and a Principal Sponsor in the Mother Teresa Awards.

Raymundo Cipriano Pujante Cayabyab aka Mr. C is a famous Filipino musician and compositor. He was the Executive and Artistic Director of the non-operational San Miguel Foundation for the Performing Arts. In 2006, he was invited as a resident judge for the Philippine Idol.

His masterpiece covers from commissioned full-length ballets, choral pieces, theater musicals, orchestral pieces, unaccompanied chorus, to commercial recordings of popular music, television specials, and film scores.

At present, Cayabyab is busy on his RCS group (Ryan Cayabyab Singers). This is a group of seven adult singers similar to his previous group Smokey Mountain in the early ‘90s. Also, Cayabyab now is show’s headmaster of Pinoy Dream Academy replacing the spot of Jim Paredes.
He was born on May 4, 1954 in Manila, Philippines. He was only 6 when his mother died and his father had great effort to support him and his three other siblings. At the death bed of his mother, she had asked all of her children not continue to music profession because she experienced hard times in financial when she was still a singer in the opera.

From then on, Cayabyab took up Bachelor of Science in Business Administration at the University of the Philippines, Diliman. While schooling, he had a part time job as an accompanist for the Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP) Chorale Ensemble with Senator Salvador Laurel. Observing Cayabyab’s extraordinary talent on the piano, Laurel offered him a scholarship on which Cayabyab shift his course to music education. Cayabyab graduated then as a Bachelor of Music, Major in Composition degree. Afterward, he then became a full time professor in UP for the Department of Composition and Music Theory for almost two decades.

Later on, Cayabyab was planning to migrate abroad when Danding Cojuangco the President of the San Miguel Corporation offered him the position as an Executive and Artistic Director of the San Miguel Foundation for the Performing Arts and Cayabyab accepted the offer and still in the position up to the present.

Henry Sy is a Chinese Filipino businessman who owns the largest retailer and a shopping mall in the Philippines. He is the founder of SM Group and the chairman of SM Prime Holdings.

In 1950, he earned his Associate of Arts degree in Commercial Studies from Far Eastern University. He was also acknowledged as the country’s “Retail King”. Henry Sy had come a long way from the store shoe he owned in Quiapo to the biggest Asia’s mall operator. He runs over 30 malls throughout the Philippines including SM Mall of Asia which the biggest mall in entire Asia and the fourth-largest mall in the world.

Henry Sy is today’s the richest man in the Philippines. He gained 1.4 billion dollars in 2008 which made next to Lucio Tan as of 2008 records and the 843rd in the world. In September 2009, his net income was estimated to 3.8 billion dollar by Forbes Asia that made him top in the rank of the Philippines rich list. Henry Sy was considered a Tai-Pan or tycoon of Asia. He is the operator of Banco de Oro Universal Bank and the owner of China Banking Corporation.

He bought the 66% share of stocks of Equitable PCI Bank which is the Philippines 3rd largest lender since he already had the 34% of it. Making him the new owner of Equitable PCI Bank and merged it onto Banco de Oro Universal Bank in 2007 that made the Philippine’s second largest financial institution in 2008 and taking the top spot in 2009 with resources of close to $20 billion dollars.

The Makati Business Club was named him the Management Man of the Year”. He was also awarded as an Honorary Doctorate in Business Management by De La Salle University-Manila in January 1999. He also organized the SM Foundation Inc that helps the promising young Filipino.

Today, I decided to really give Filipino nurses all the credit they should have because of their extra ordinary skills that makes Philippines and all Filipinos around the world to be proud of them.

Nursing is quite a popular and most sought after career or course in the Philippines.  Nursing in the Philippines career really exploded by numbers. So many students, youth in general really thinks and believe that this is the career and the path they should take in this kind of times.

There are so many reasons why Filipinos really want to take the nursing path. Number one of those reasons is that this is an in demand and high paying nursing job abroad.

As we all know, nursing or Filipino nurses are in demand abroad. Rich and quite populated countries like United States, Canada and some European and UAE states prefer Filipino nurses because of the knowledge and the good heart they are showing at their job.

According to statistics, In the United States alone, the demand for nurses is estimated at 600,000 between now and 2020. This is such a huge number considering a large percentage of it will be coming from Philippines.

Also, because of this numbers and statistics, many Filipinos prefer to study here in the Philippines then later, work or apply as a nurse abroad. Also, it was also a common knowledge to all of us that some doctors are already diving in the nursing world for them to be able to work abroad.

Quality knowledge, a good and helping heart and very hardworking personality is what makes Filipino nurses stand out with other foreign nurses. This is a trait or personality that can’t be teached nor acquire through schools or by studying in a somewhat, state of the art facilities.

This is why I can say that nurses in the Philippines is a world class professionals. They just need to be taken care of by the Philippine government for them to showcases their talent and skills here in the Philippines before going abroad.

Si Apl.De.Ap o si Allan Pineda Lindo sa tunay na buhay ay isang Filipino-Amerikano hip hop na musikero, record producer at isa sa miyembro ng sikat na grupong Black Eyed Peas.

Si Apl.de.ap ay isinilang sa Sapang Bato, Angeles City, Pampanga, sa Pilipinas noong Nobyembre 28, 1974. Ang kanyang ina ay isang Filipina at ama naman niya ay isang African American. Ang kanyang ama, isang US airman na naka base noon sa Clark Air Base. Iniwan sila ng kanyang ama  nuong siya ay pinanganak ng kanyang inang si Cristina Pineda. Si Allan at ang kanyang anim na nakababatang kapatid ay magisang pinalaki at tinaguyod ng kanilang ina. Dalawa sa kanyang mga kapatid ay yumao na: Si Arnel, na sinasabing nagpakamatay at ang kanyang bunsong kapatid na lalaki, Joven Pineda Deala, ay nasawi sa edad na 22 sa noong Pebrero 2009 sa Porac, Pampanga.

Noong kabataan niya, Si Apl ay gumugugol ng isang oras na paglalakbay mula bahay papunta sa paaralan at pabalik muli sa kanilang tahanan. Siya ay nakatulong sa kanyang pamilya sa pamamagitan ng pagsasaka at pagbebenta ng matamis na patatas, mais, tubo at bigas.

Ang Pearl S. Buck Foundation ay isang organisasyon tumutulong at nangangalaga sa mga Amerasian na kabataan ang naunang tumulong kay Allan Pineda. Si Apl ay binigyan ng isang mabuting isponsor sa katauhan ni Joe Ben Hudgens. Una siyang nakaapak sa Estados Unidos sa edad na 11 upang matrato ang nystagmus, isang kapansanan sa loob ng mata.

Siya at si Will.I.Am ay bumuo ng isang break-dancing na grupo na tinawag nilang Tribal Nation at regular na nagtanghal sa mga lugar Southern California.  Mula 1992-1995, ang kanilang grupo ay pinangalanang Atban Klann (ATBAN ay kumakatawan sa a terrific “A Tribe Beyond a Nation”) at kasama sina MC Mookie Mook, Dante Santiago at producer DJ Motiv8. Ang Atban Klann ay nasa pangangalaga ng Eazy-E’s label, Ruthless Records ngunit sa pagyao ni Eazy-E, naging hudyat din ito ng pagbaba ng kanilang grupo.

Dinala at pinagmalaki ni Apl ang kultura ng Filipino sa kanyang pagsapi sa grupong Black Eyed Peas. Sinimulan ni Apl.de.ap ang Apl Foundation. Ito ay nakatuon sa pagbibigay tulong sa komunidad at sa mga bata sa loob ng Pilipinas at sa buong Asya. Siya rin ang nagsimula ng kanyang sariling musika kumpanya na tinatawag na Jeepney Music, Inc Ito ay kasalukuyang nakabase sa Silver Lake, Los Angeles, California. Ito ay kasalukuyang humahawak sa DJs tulad ng Free School, DJ Rockyrock, DJ Mia, at PoetNameLife.

Nag record muli si Apl.de.ap ng isa pang tagalog na kanta para sa ikalimang Black Eyed Peas ‘album, “Ang END”. Ang kanta ay may titulong  “Mare”.  Ngayong 2009, mayroon din siyang kanta na pinamagatang “Take You to The Philippines” na umako at nagbigay inspirasyon sa Pilipinas. Para makatulong sa kanilang pamilya, si Arnel ay di na muna pumasok sa eskwela at nagpasyang tumulong sa paraang alam niya.

Sa loob ng dalawang taon, si Arnel ay napilitang manirahan sa lansangan at matulog kung saan man; sa mga pampublikong parke o sa labas ng bahay ng mga kaibigan. Nakakaipon sya ng kaunting salapi sa pamamagitan ng pagiipon at pagbebenta ng mga bote, dyaryo at mga bakal. Kung minsan siya ay napunta sa mga daungan ng barko at dun ay sasama sa mga kaibigan upang maglinis at magtiktik ng kalawang sa mga nakadaong na barko.

Wala siyang sapat na pagkain sa araw araw at minsan, tinitipid niya ang kanyang biskwit na binili upang magkasya sa loob ng 2 araw. Pero hindi ito naging dahilan para mawalan siya ng pag asa at mangarap ng maganda para sa kanyang kinabukasan.

Ang Karera Sa Pagkanta Ni Arnel Pineda

• Taong 1982 – Si Arnel ay 15 taong gulang.Naging pangunahing manganganta siya ng Ijos Band.

• Taong 1986 – Ang miyembro ng Ijoz ay gumawa ng bagong grupo sa pangalang AMO. Ang Amo ay nanalo sa isang Rock Contest sa Pilipinas.

• Taong 1988 – Ang Amo ay nanalo sa edisyong Pilipinas ng Yamaha World Band Explosion.

• Taong 1990 – itinatag ni Arnel at ibang kasapi ng AMO ang Intensity Five na banda at muling sumali sa Yamaha World Band Explosion. Nanalo si Arnel Pineda ng “Best Vocalist award” sa kompetisyong iyon.

• Taong 1991 – Si Arnel at ang kanyang bagong bandang New Age ay nadiskober ng isang “Talent Manager” at silay sinabihan nito at kinausap na tumungo sa Hong Kong para duon mag tanghal sa isang tanyag na restaurant.

• Taong 1999 – Si Arnel Pineda ay nakitaan ng angking galing at talento ng Warner Bros. record label. Sa pamamagitan ng Warner Bros., nakapagrecord si Arnel ng kanyang solo album na may sariling titulong “Arnel Pineda”.

• Taong 2004 - Ang 3 kasapi ng New Age na banda ay kumuha ng isa pang bokalistang babae na makakapareha ni Arnel sa pagkanta at sila ay tinawag na “Most W@nted”

• Taong 2005 – Nairekord ni Arnel ang pangunahing kanta ng pang radyong palatuntunan na “Dayo“. Ang bandang “The Visitors” ay naitayo upang suportahan ang “DAYO”. Ang “The Visitors” ay mga miyembrong galing sa bandang Ijos, Amo, New Age at Most W@nted. Lahat ng ito ay naging banda ni Arnel.

• Taong 2006 – sa patuloy na pagsusumikap at pakikipag negosasyon ng isang kinikilang Filipino talent manager and direktor, Bert de Leon, si Arnel ay bumalik sa Pilipinas kasama si Monet Cajipe, si Cajipe ay gitaristang nakasama ni Arnel sa lahat ng itinayo nilang banda.

• Dito itinayo nila ang bandang “The Zoo”.

Pamilya Ni Arnel Pineda

Sa ngayon, ang ama ni Arnel ay nagtatrabaho pa rin bilang mananahi dito sa Pilipinas. Ang kanyang 3 kapatid na lalaki ay may kanya kanya nang pamilya. Sinusuportahan pa rin ni Arnel ang kanyang kapadit na si Roderick sa pagaaral nito sa isang unibersidad.

May 3 anak si Arnel. Sina Matthew (20 taon), Angelo (12 taon), at Cherub (3 taon). Sa tuwing may pagkakataon, siya ay umuuwi ng bansa upang makasama ang kanyang butihing maybahay na si Cherry at ang bunsong anak na si Cherub.

Kahit na nasa rurok na ng tagumpay si Arnel, di niya nakakalimutan na ang lahat ng ito ay bigay at kaloob ng maykapal, kaya marapat lamang na kanya itong ibahagi sa kapwa. Si Arnel ay patuloy na tumutulong at sumusuporta sa mga organisasyong nagtataguyod at tumutulong sa mga batang lansangan at mahihirap niyang kababayan.

Nagsisilbi ring inspirasyon si Arnel sa lahat ng Filipino sa buong mundo. Isa siyang patunay na hindi hadlang ang nakaraan at kahirapan upang marating ang anumang mithiin sa buhay.

Efren Peñaflorida Ang Bayani Ng Taon 2009

Si Efren “Kuya Ef” Penaflorida ay itinanghal na “2009 CNN Hero Of The Year“.  Ang parangal ay iginawad sa kanya nuong nakalipas na Nobyembre 22, taong kasalukuyan. Iginawad sa kanya ito ni CNN’s Anderson Cooper sa pagtatapos ng ikatlong-taunang “CNN Heroes: All-Star Tribute” sa Kodak Teatro sa Hollywood.

Personal Na Impormasyon At Buhay Ni Efren Peñaflorida

Si Efren  Geronimo Peñaflorida Jr o mas kilala sa tawag na Kuya Ef at pinanganak noong Marso 5, 1981. Siya ay isang guro dito sa Pilipinas.

Efren Penaflorida At Ang Kariton Klasrum

Siya ang panggitnang anak nina Efren Peñaflorida Sr na isang traysikel driver, at Lucila Geronimo, isang butihing maybahay. Ang kanilang pamilya ay may isang maliit na negosyong nagtitinda ng pansit na siyang nagtutustos sa kanilang pangangailangan sa araw araw.  Si Efren ay lumaki sa isang urban na lugar ng mga dukha malapit sa isang bukas na tambakan ng basura sa siyudad ng Kabite. Naranasan niyang maglaro sa gitna ng basura at maligo sa maduming dagat o tubig. Madalas din siyang inaapi nuong siyay musmos pa lamang.  Siya ay isa sa mga iskolar nang World Vision nuong mga panahong yaon.

Itinatag niya ang Dynamic Teen Company (DTC) nung sya ay nasa edad na 16 taong gulang pa lamang. Nagsimula ang kanyang grupo sa bilang ng 20 kasapi.  Ang kanilang pangunahing layunin ay ang pagbibigay sa mga kabataan ng mga proyektong pangkamalayan, talento at pag-unlad ng mga gawain, at mga serbisyo. Sila ay nakipagtulungan sa Club 8,586 na isa ring pribadong organisasyon na may parehong layunin sa kanilang lugar.

Ang DTC ang nagpasimuno at nagsimula nang ideyang “kariton klasrum”, kung saan ang kariton ay ginawang lagayan ng mga materyales sa paaralan tulad ng libro, panulat, mesa, at upuan, at pagkatapos ay ginagamit sa araw ng Sabado upang ilapit sa mga kabataan ang orihinal na ideya and idelohiya ng paaralan sa mga mahihirap na lokasyon tulad ng mga nakatira sa sementeryo o malapit sa tambakan ng basura.

Ngayon, ang katiron klasrum ni Kuya EF ay patuloy na nagtuturo sa mga batang lansangan ng pangunahing pagbabasa at pagsusulat.

Nang siya ay matanghal na Bayani Ng Taong 2009 ng CNN, si Efren Penaflorida kasama ang Dynamic Teen Company at sampu ng kanyang mga ka miyembro ay ginawaran ng halagang 100,000 dolyar upang masuportahan pa at palawigin ang kanilang proyekto di lamang sa loob ng Kabite, kundi, sa iba pang karatig lugar o pook.
